Working with bssa to provide advice on company and personal pensions

With the implementation of recent legislative changes, the scope of pension options has never been broader but this can mean more confusion!

The Pension Consultancy (TPC) has teamed up with bssa to provide independent advice to all members. TPC is a national group of independent pension specialists with over 90 local offices across the UK .

TPC offers instant access to a fully qualified independent financial adviser (IFA) based close to the enquirer. The IFA will provide a comprehensive range of pension services and, as each adviser is totally independent, they can provide expert advice on investment products tailored to the individual needs of the client.

All members of TPC are fully regulated by The Financial Services Authority and specialise in giving long term advice on pension and retirement planning.

Following changes to the law which came into effect as a result of the Pensions Act 2004, a raft of new requirements in the way that pension schemes are regulated have now been placed on employers and trustees which will be enforced by the Pensions Regulator. This is an area where TPC will be able to provide specific advice and support to those bssa members who have existing company pension schemes to administer by providing invaluable one-to-one assistance.

An important change in personal pension planning also took place on 6 th April 2006 – ‘A’ Day. These changes have made Self Invested Personal Pensions (SIPPs) available to virtually everyone. For example, you are able to invest in residential and commercial property funds, as well as traditional investments such as shares and unit trusts. There is a range of other new benefits where a TPC IFA will be able to help and guide you through the opportunities that are available.
